long bone
A long bone is a bone that has a shaft and 2 ends and is longer than it is wide. Long bones have a thick outside layer of compact bone and an inner medullary cavity containing bone marrow. The ends of a long bone contain spongy bone and an epiphyseal plate or line depending on the stage of development. The epiphyseal plate is a hyaline cartilage, where new bone growth takes place, lengthening the bone prior to adulthood. Bone lengthening ceases when this cartilage is lost, leaving a remnant referred to as an epiphyseal line. Every claim on this page comes from the Leumas anatomy graph and carries its source.

Where the long bone is
It sits within the skeletal system. Only the system is known. The position shown carries almost no spatial information.
What the long bone connects to
The atlas records 33 typed relationships for it, across 5 kinds of connection. part of appendicular skeleton.
Supply and innervation
This dataset asserts no arterial supply, venous drainage or innervation for the long bone. Only a minority of structures carry those edges here, so an empty answer means nothing has been recorded — not that there is nothing to record.

Questions
Where is the long bone?
It sits within the skeletal system. Only the system is known. The position shown carries almost no spatial information.
What does the long bone connect to?
Part of: appendicular skeleton.
Is the long bone the same in other species?
Leumas holds the same relationship vocabulary for every species it carries, so where another dataset records this structure you can put the two side by side on /compare.
