mesenchyme in dogs
Portion of tissue composed of mesenchymal cells (motile cells that develop from epthelia via an epithelial to mesenchymal transition) and surrounding extracellular material. Mesenchyme has different embryological origins in different metazoan taxa - in many invertebrates it derives in whole or part from ectoderm. In vertebrates it derives largely from mesoderm, and sometimes the terms are used interchangeably, e.g. lateral plate mesoderm/mesenchyme. Every claim on this page comes from the Leumas anatomy graph and carries its source.
What the mesenchyme is
Portion of tissue composed of mesenchymal cells (motile cells that develop from epthelia via an epithelial to mesenchymal transition) and surrounding extracellular material. The atlas records it as a tissue at the tissue scale in the dog.
Where the mesenchyme is
This dataset records no region or system for it. No positional evidence of any kind. Drawn outside the body so it can still be found and counted, never inside it.
What the mesenchyme connects to
The atlas records 28 typed relationships for it, across 3 kinds of connection. a kind of tissue.
Supply and innervation
This dataset asserts no arterial supply, venous drainage or innervation for the mesenchyme. Only a minority of structures carry those edges here, so an empty answer means nothing has been recorded — not that there is nothing to record.
Also called
Also recorded as mesenchymal tissue, mesenchyme tissue, portion of mesenchymal tissue, portion of mesenchyme tissue and mesenchyma. Searching any of those names reaches this page.

Questions
Where is the mesenchyme?
This dataset records no region or system for it. No positional evidence of any kind. Drawn outside the body so it can still be found and counted, never inside it.
What does the mesenchyme connect to?
A kind of: tissue.
Is the mesenchyme the same in other species?
This page describes the dog. The human record of the same structure sits beside it on /compare, over one shared model rather than two atlases built separately.
